Okay, I've been holding out on posting since I've been hitting a few hiccups along the way that are driving me nuts! BUT... the show must go on, hiccups or not.
So I finally got my tank up and running... Cloudy due to having just added the sand
Sump, plumbing, and all...
though I certainly effed up plumbing a number of times... newbie mistakes (dry fitting not the same as gluing, forgetting to put a union washer thingy on before gluing, gluing things crooked... I have a bag of PVC abominations and pretty much wasted $40-50 worth of supplies there alone

)
*Note: the blue cap was off the top of my vectra

... that required me to order a replacement directly from Ecotech*
The Apex arrived in the mail finally
So I began the process of cable management by mounting the controllers (work in progress)
*Note: I did forgo the idea of doing a door/additional panel design since I feel I can probably be crafty enough with the cables to hide them within the panduit... I've worked in Data Centers for the past 10 years so I've got a few tricks up my sleeve... I do appreciate your feedback but in the end wanted to take on the challenge (also I was lacking a saw to cut the boards with, so there's that)
And then on to the process of aquascaping... I wanted to stay with my idea of an arch and cove (while trying to avoid it looking too much like a McDonalds logo)
So when it was put all together, here's what I was left with...
So now we're left with the hiccups...
#1 - I have a couple slow drippy spots in my plumbing... One spot is where I completely forgot to glue

the other a spot where the metric Red Sea plumbing meets my manifold (did not use enough Teflon tape apparently)
#2 - My WiFi is not digging the amount of devices connected to it all the sudden or there's interference/loss of signal between my router (upstairs) and the tank goodies (downstairs)... I think I've fixed this with resetting defaults on the router but still a PITA
#3 - The Apex is behaving badly! At least two of my power outlets don't provide power at all and a third seems to randomly power on/off whatever is connected to it... I tried removing all plugs and just moving something simple (sump LED light strip) from outlet to outlet to identify where the problems are... Seems to be an issue on the Apex and not on the devices plugged in from all I can tell... I'm writing this up first but my next step is to run off to the Apex forums and possibly open a ticket if I don't find what I'm looking for as an existing topic.
My phone/email have been going nuts with notifications over the past couple days
But anyway, all is going pretty well in the grand scheme of things... I just got media into my reactors and those going, added my marinepure ceramic bio-spheres, and threw in some of Tim's One-and-Only to get my cycle going
To end this post on a chipper note, here's a picture of an urchin at my LFS with a spiffy hat
