Hello all,

I got this coral at TSM yesterday, it was sold as a Welso, but another forum user told me they thought it might be a Wilsoni and recommended I seek a firm ID and some info from the experts, so here I am!

Best photos I can get so far. It hasn’t been open most of the time.

I'm not sure on the ID, but TSM has had some insanely beautiful brains in stock lately. Nice pickup!

Thanks man, I’d never been there before, passing through on my way back from a wedding, store is amazing. I bought a bunch of stuff, my wife was really nice about it! I’ll throw up a couple pics later if I can.

If pressed I would say wilsoni because they tend to have more ridges/folds.

I tried to look it up, I honestly can’t tell from the info I have.

It's a Wilsoni. If I said welso then I mispoke. Sorry for the confusion.

Rang up as Welso, was just going by the receipt. You probably said Wilsoni. Good to know. Everything’s doing beautifully. Love the gold torch. Check out the brain today. Huge.

Update nearly six months later (because to many threads never get updated!). Last pic is for size reference. Also this time I think the photo colors are pretty true to life. The plate underneath it is still there, it’s just slightly larger the whole way around. I don’t know how much skeletal growth there has been, but it’s still clearly happy.

Been direct feeding it every other day with reef roid paste, and the temp never went over 77 in the summer and is at 75 now (have read low temps and feeding may be a key to success with them). Unfortunately I’ve developed dinos over the last two weeks. Hasn’t impacted it yet but my torches haven’t opened fully. Will see.
