Hi, I've recently got a brain coral and over the past week or two its started to lose some flesh. Anyone any ideas what's going on with it or how to help it? Image below

100L cube with LED lights. It's positioned halfway up mostly under the lights with moderate flow
Ca 410, Alk 8.7, Mg 1300, Salinity 1.025, temp 26 C, ph 8.1, nitrate 20, phos 0.2

Sometimes they can be seen when trying to feed. I've never dealt with them personally. #reefsquad anyone ever remove one?

I think the holes you see are mouths apposed to burrows as they were there and healthy when I got the coral

That's a beautiful coral!

Can you tell us about your water conditions and lighting? Have you made any changes to the tank recently? Any new additions??

Welcome to Reef2Reef, by the way!

I know, its a shame to see it suffer. If I can't get it to start improving and its water paramets I'll see if the LFS will look after it while I work out the issue. Parameters are in the original post, and I'm working on bringing my nitrates down. I'm cant remember what my light is but its a 4 channel progammable LED light, 24x3W leds of varying colour. Lights gradually increase over 4 hours to 80% for another 4 hours and back down over 4 hours. (First and last hours are blue lights for the coral glow).

Ugh. Not a coral super-pro, and other than nutrient levels being a little (really, only a _little_!) on the higher side, I don't see anything wrong with your water or light. (Assuming that light schedule has been running for a while, no recent changes.)

Have you tried dipping this guy in anything?

No just acclimated it to my water over 90 mins as well as the other corals. Was healthy for a week or two and started receeding. No real changes to the tank other than I move the filter output and wavemaker around every couple of weeks to try keep the corals happy. Havent moved the angles around since having the brain until today, where I've moved it to a low lit and low flow area in the corner of my tank. Hopefully I can bring my nitrates down and one of those things will help it
