I wouldn't try splitting those personally...you'd probably need a bandsaw, a steady hand, and experience.

The brain I have, like these, seems to be fussed completely to the rock. So, if these are fussed to the rock and this close together there's probably a very small space between them. I'm not sayin it's not possible, I'd just keep them like this if it were me.
