Loss of tissue no doubt. Had similar at base and placed the brain on top of a tin rock to get it off of sand and took care of issue. Brain does well with moderate light and flow and salinity of 1.025-1.026. Brightwell RESTOR is a good product to help heal the tissue that has been lost

What kind of fish are in with it - it would be helpful if you put an arrow or something on the part you're concerned about.

I agree with vetteguy. I have had problem with brain corals in the past and realized it had to do with the amount of light I was giving it. I have acropora corals and have my lights pushing pretty hard. I have them in shaded corners and under rocks and they seem to be doing way better. I had one that died from brown jelly and one that got brown jelly and I treated it with Hydrogen peroxide and it got better. Wish you the best of luck! I posted a picture of the two corals that were not doing good and had tissue reassetion. Now they are growing and I feed them once a week

Hi, thank you for your advice. Did you any experience with Brightwell RESTOR ?

I use it as needed and it works well. Hydrogen peroxide is a alternative but to me a slight risk

IME these trachyphyllia can suck up light. To clean of a tank can lead to recession. Trachyphyllia like to be fed as well, meaty foods like mysis, roe, etc.
