So, just for clarification, my clowns are wonderful and I love them in my tank.

Within the last two weeks they've begun exhibiting a VERY strange behavior. They will retreat to the back of the tank, just behind the return, go to the surface and start making noises. They aren't gasping for air, they're never fed in that area, there is nothing on the glass that they're messing with, and if they see me looking in they quickly swim over to me.

Its odd... they don't do it all day, but it occurs several times over the course of the day. Does anyone have any idea what they're doing?

You can hear the sound that they make at the end of this 5 second video. I think its just from them slapping the surface of the water.

I've put a second copy of the video in. I'm still seeing it and able to play it, but maybe it has to get approved (?). In either case, the clowns are just swimming near the surface.
I have many other fish in the tank, no one else has been showing this behavior, the male and female do it together as a couple and never alone... so I have full confidence that this is not a symptom of oxygen levels. Just was hoping maybe someone else might have seen this before.

I think the vids not showing up is a safari thing. I got nothin’ on my iPhone. I discovered a while ago that I have to copy/paste them into Chrome on my iBook to see them (or just use this site in Chrome).
