Although I cannot keep the open brain/meat corals because they end up as lunch for my angels, I have been keeping an eye out for a nice large closed brain/maze coral. Patience rewarded today when my LFS got in a really terrific piece. I've not kept one in a while. Used to be moderate light, moderate flow. Keep them at but not directly on the sand. Any new thinking with these corals?

We grew ours on a bare bottom tank. Since you have sand I'd try a large flat rock above the sand and place it on that. Ours was a platygyra, low to moderate light with low to moderate indirect flow.

Yes, I believe the one I got is a platygyra also.
