I recently got some polyp/zoa frags and now 2 months after I noticed some "hitchhikers" growing of them. It might just be obvious, but I have never seen those... any help to identify it and define good/bad is highly appreciated!

No. 1 is this little branch growing on the right side.. there are some of them growing from the plug too

The second one is this yellow slime

Thanks everyone!
The first one looks like a vermedit snail. The second one looks like a sponge that's slowly taking over.

So is this snail harmful? They certainly don't look pretty... I broke some of these little branches off just by moving the coral, they are brittle like ceramic. Can I just pick them off the corals?

I've read vermatid's can over-run a tank, but I had two on a Trochus Snail for 2 years and they never reproduced. They extrude a "fishing line" of mucous and reel detritus and microfauna in to feed on. The lines can irritate corals, esp zoas. You can pick them off or just superglue over the end of the tube.

take the frag out and scrap everything that's not the zoanthus with a boxcutter
always wear gloves and goggles while doing this!
