Like the title says I'm trying to figure out if my hammer Coral is a branching or wall variety, I'm afraid I already know the answer as I've had it about 3 months and I've yet to see new polyps but it has definitely grown. I'd prefer it to be branching but not much I can do about that at this point.

Definitely a Branching Hammer. It doesn’t look to happy either.

Glad to hear it's branching! it looks unhappy because the tank lights are off, it's always open during the day. Out of curiosity how can you differentiate the branching and wall hammers when they are small like this?

The skeleton. See on yours where the defined white ish line is ? That’s the skeleton and each head will grow it’s own, where a wall the white ish part of the skeleton is hardly show and the skeleton grows wide with multiple heads in the same skeleton is the best way i can describe it.

Branching +1
