It must be because I know people who can't function when they have them. I get a little back ache and then they hurt for about 10 seconds when they pass.

Tearing three stomach muscles in half was MUCH more painful.

First was 12 hours of the agonizing pain, second was only six... My last one 5 days! I took so many percocets... It was absolutely terrible.

But, to put it into perspective, I don't use pain killers or locals. I have given myself stitches when I played hockey. I set my own fingers or toes if I break one. ;Wideyed

It's really weird the looks you get from medical people when you tell them "Just stitch it up, it's fine." LOL!

Anyone here have experience with longnose hawkfish?

How are they around cleaner / blood shrimp? Also other tank mates?
I hear bad from no experience but read not so bad from people with them.

My little pointy mate makes me smile all the time, very active and a great personality, I have a cleaner shrimp.

Yeah, they're never fun. I'm the same way and think going to the doctor is just an unnecessary bill lol. Other than ibuprofen I'm the same with pain medicine. Mine get to the point where I feel like it's either that or dilaudid at the er.

I passed a couple of boulders last year. 10mm & 8mm. I only had pain at first. Not really painful passing them. Fortunately they were round and smooth. I firget now what their composition was. It took about a week or so to get them out. FlowMax helped a great deal. I have photos if you are interested. Ha!

Im usually near death by the time I seek medical care. The last time I finally gave in and went to urgent care for what I expected to be a scrip for an antibiotic turned into emergency surgery. Thought I had the flu... Turns out Id been walking around with a collapsed lung for the better part of two weeks.

Haha, I think we both win the “He so dang Stubborn” award!

It turned out I had pneumonia, collapsed the lung from coughing so hard it ruptured some sacks of air that had been growing on the outside of the lungs. They gave me a giant dose of Ketamine and tubed me on the spot. What a ride Ketamine was.... talk about separating mind from body! Ill never forget that!

Had to have further surgery a few weeks later after the pneumonia cleared to remove the sacks of air that didn't rupture. Still cant sleep on my left side

To a degree definitely.... It changed my life for the better so 1000% worth it. For years I assumed smoking for +|- 25 years at the time was the reason I had trouble breathing. Turns out it was those sacks of air. After the surgery I was a brand new man!
