Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

@JoshH what kind of stoock list are you looking at? 125 total water volume? Are these your dimensions 60x30x17? Just quicly looked at your build link.

Anyway, you can keep quite a few if you want. I have 5 in my 4'x2'x22" tank now and hope to add a couple more.

Fairies and Flashers are great for color and movement in the water column, generally peaceful unless paired with similar species. Leopards and Halichoeres are great for hunting pests but do require a sand bed of some sort. Also generally peaceful though some have had issues with melanarus males being cranky. Inch and half at minimium for sand generally, Two to Three inches is better.

A few of my favories that don't break the bank. Radiant Wrasse, Ornate or Meleagris Leopard's. McKoskers Flasher, Linespot Flasher, Carpenters Flasher. The list of Fairies is endless really but they can quickly go through the roof cost wise. Still plenty of pretty, affrodable ones to choose from though.

One important thing, cover the tank as tight as you can. Don’t even leave space for 1 cm. They are escape artists .

Just dropping to say hello and let you know my son's photographer is breaching his contract and so far no pictures of the wedding

. The photographer is joining the Marines and has the business for sale but has not delivered on his $2000.00 contract...my son paid $1400.00 up front. The photographer did not deliver the agreed upon invitations so someone else took care of that. Feel sorry for my son and my daughter in law! Well that is why you are married so you can "weather the storms of life together" as @Katrina71stated so well! Have a great day all and I am loving that Blue Strip Pipefish!

Welcome to Reef2reef. We all started somewhere and no matter how experienced an aquarist is, there is ALWAYS more to learn. For color in a little fish you might consider the Royal Gramma. Easy to keep and relatively peaceful. Good luck with your build.

I honestly haven't come up with much of a stock list Wrasse wise as I've just started looking into them. My main concern is I would like a pair of Mandarins and from what I've read, most Wrasse specialize in decimating pod populations lol So I don't even know if I should risk it. And yes my actual tank volume is around 120ish Gallons plus a 30ish gallon sump and 15 Gallon Fuge.

I do plan on roughly a 2 inch sand bed, most likely Fiji pink as it's what I use now and I like it for the most part.

Stick to fairies and flashers if you're concerned, they don't decimate pods like Leopards and Halichores will. FWIW I kept a Leopard, Melanarus, 3 Fairies and a mandarin happy in Reefer 250 for a couple of years only adding pods twice after getting the Mandarin. Nothing from there on out. Still have the mandarin and gave the Melanarus to @Fudsey when i went bare bottom with my last build. Give the pods a headstart and in that size system you can keep a handful of hunters happy.

I had a pretty cool wrasse in my old 75 - a Puddingwife Wrasse. He used to like to mess with snails. Like pick them up and spit them out on the other side of the tank. I don't see many of these out there, of course, I don't know many people around me that have tanks anymore. I had a Radiant and a Blue Sided Wrasse in my 140. They were cool too.

some easier starting corals are gsp, mushrooms, and pulsing Xenia. for fish And inverts is start with a clown, a cleaner shrimp, a goby and a few Small crabs or snails. Huge tip is to slowly add things one by one slowly. Otherwise the tank might get shocked.
