@Robin Haselden the mystery critter is a mushroom. Apparently they have been dirty little mushrooms. I have about 10 babies.

At least yours are splitting. My rhodactis mushrooms have grown to about 1.5" then stopped. I cut one in half, it recovered, grew and has stopped.... they won't be going in the 35g so I'll probably sell frags on eBay to recover some money.

Ok I've figured out I hate the hood on the 29. No hinges and I only have 2 hands. Working solo with that hood is a total pain. I have seen one some time ago that had elbows to prop the hood up. Anybody happen to know how they attach?

You could go rimless BioCube... yes, you're handy enough to do it. I've seen your carpentry skills. Acrylic is practically wood, right? Talk to @ReeferMadness80G, he knows what to do.

By jbj had half janky hinges that worked ok. Then a basic plastic prop. A stick basically.

I think you'll wind up with a JB weld project.
