I did 50% WC yesterday.
Things are looking a little better.
May still use the slime away but the cyano has slowed down so I'm waiting it out right now, not sure how long I'll let it go.
Today I dosed vibrant, just going to do the clean aquarium light dosage for now to see if it will knock out the last of the nuisance algae.

It doesn’t look like any feather duster I’ve seen. It kind of looks like a ceiling fan blade.

I’ve zoomed in a bit.

If that’s what i think it is, totally harmless. My Goni has one too, it’s a little calcified tube with a fan thingy that comes out and can retract instantly. Grows off the base of the rock the Goni was fragged out of. Here’s a pic of the tube. Someone id’d it for me forever ago, forgot what they called it though. You can see the tube peeking out in these pics,

the fan part will come out at night after the Goni retracts.

I think many have a wrong perception of nutrients (or maybe I do)

I believe it’s not more of an are they present or not instead of levels kind of thing.

I think corals are like dogs: they appreciate schedules and knowing what they’re going to get and the time they’re going to get it. Corals always need the big 3 as well as nitrate and phosphate. All 5 should always be present. As long as there is enough for them to pull them they’re ok. I think ranges are important as they may indicate how accessible the nutrient is I.e. a coral may detect low range and tell itself to ration the nutrient or starve itself. Or it may tell itself that the nutrient is nearing bottoming out.

When levels fall or raise slowly, the corals just know what to expect and when to expect it. People obsess over ranges but I feel like they need to obsess more over accessibility.

I like the thought process behind this & am gonna have to agree!

It makes me feel bad for the corals when I see all of these people running 0 nitrate and phosphate.

I just don’t get it.

A spionid worm? That’s not it. But it really looks like a little mini feather duster, you can see it waving around in the current, it opens up like a little white flower. I suppose under strong blue light it might appear blue.

What mine is looks nothing like a feather duster. I have a few feather dusters in the tank. This is a specific geometric shape.

This is what it looks like, no feather duster heads come out, no tubes.

So I was talking to Derek at Miracles Aquariums today looking at maybe grabbing a second tank for my setup. I've had a hankering for Garden Eels lately but they won't do well in my shallow tank so I need something a little deeper. I'm still in debates over adding a second tank but when we were talking he mentioned the fact that I might have started a bit of a trend with my One piece Eurobracing, he's had 6 orders for tanks with the one piece on them so far, some of which have mentioned my name directly.

I never thought I was cool enough to start a trend but here we are, now to come up with a catchy name for it, any ideas??;Bookworm;Writing

It’s bizarrw indeed which is why I’m questioning whether it’s living or not. It’s kind of large: 2 inch diameter and those spikes we’ll call them extend out about an inch. It hasn’t done anything but I don’t know where it came from.

It looks so much better than it did just 2 weeks ago.

It might be! It holds very still and does fluoresce a tad with that blue. Not sure how whatever it is squeezed itself between the goni skeleton and plug.

This frag tank is starting to have a ton of critters. There are frags from about 10-12 different sources in here, most from hobbyists.
