well they can use up oxygen and they are autotroph so they don'T actually need food, they even can fix the N to build up their own fertilizer

You actually bring up something that stresses me with others.

High nutrients are not the cause of cyano.

Both of my systems are very low nutrients and in one of them cyano profiliferated

I wish more research was done on what cyano thrives on and how it survives.

Corals and fish should be fine for 48hrs.
Has it been 4 full days? The first time I used it, it took a while to start working. Also remove your carbon if you have it
 
Well one thing we know is they bloom becose of the water autrophication , i'm not sure if I get the word correct in english.

cyanos are 'photoautotrophe' wich means they only need light to live

they are virtually everywhere even in a tank wich doesnt seems like it has some.

the larger cells are heterocyst wich are the ones that fix the N via nitrogenase enzyme wich serves to feed the rest of the colony

One thing I know is if you want to help yourself losing cyanos you want to cut fertilizers in your tank.
ie nitrates and phosphates and especially the latter.
many cyanos fix the N to Amonia wich doesnt appear on the tests but since we only mesure the nitrates we don't see that they actually are present becose of the denitrification wich results in the growth of said cyanos ... they kinda produce their own circle and that's why people tend to be confused about them
 
the cyanos by themselves don use up the oxygen they actually increase it , it's the heterotrophe bacteria wich uses up the organic matters produced by the cyanos that actually use up the oxygen.
they do release some toxins too in some high concentration.
I suspect they have a bad impact on fish digestive track as well wich could benefit the tank with added nutrients becose the fish doesnt digest properly ... but that's just an idea I have lol

These LPS are similar to those present in the cell wall of Gram negative bacteria. These compounds are presumed to have potential irritant effects (irritation of the skin and mucous membranes) or could irritate the gastrointestinal system if ingested (Cheung et al., 2013);
 
See in my limited experience I only had cyano when I was dosing no3po4x and my nutrients plummeted. I believe the plummet in Nutrients allowed for a bacterial imbalance which ultimately caused the cyano to explode. When I stopped dosing no3po4x and just manually blew it off my rock and sand bed the cyano stopped coming back.

I had some in a new established tank and when a big fish died(even snails)... or a new rock is added or sand getting dirty

I'm thinking it's a matter of self preservation. Fish eat less, insures a larger food source?
