Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Got my first set of fish ordered for the tank today. Ordered Them off of Marine Collectors. It’s a batch of Tangs! Can’t wait, but nervous this is nothing like stocking my 8 or my 29 Biocubes!

Don't forget that you have a build thread too! ;)

Don't lie. You're just afraid the Tang police will show up:)

Nice list @tdlawdo

Reefing question.
Ive never tested the tap water of Springfield IL. You guys can smack my knuckles with a ruler later.

My buddy just set up a fish tank and used all filter sponges, reef rubble and bio rings. He used an api test kit and got readings of .25-.5. He tested the tap water and it tested above one. I know even through an rodi system ammonia will make it through. He used prime to make it non toxic anything else we can do besides a 7 stage filter

Does he presently have an RODI he is using?

In that case, as far as I know, there isn't anything more he can do.

I looked up the water used out of Lake Springfield. As of 2013, they added ammonia directly into the system. I did not research it further but I'm sure you can find out if they still dose ammonia these days.

Suggestions before I glue ?

Man, that looks super sano ( sano= sanitary=clean. Dumb norcal slang)
I have ordered all I need to drill and overflow my 20l and hope to get time to do it over my 4 week paternity leave. I hope it turns out half that nice.

Thanks dude!! You got this!

Comicon (sp) is a hidden nerd dream of mine!
Comicon is disappointing. If you like comics at least. They moved the anime people to another building so they would be out if the way. And the comics and anything to do with them are shoved into the corner where nobody goes.

it's all about movies and video games pretty much.

Also people buy tickets to meet Stan Lee, but if you went to anime expo you could hang out with him all day, anime people didn't care about him!

You play caveman?
I did a while back for some time. My brothers convinced me it was a way we could hang out and play something while we lived far apart. It was fun with them, but I grew tired of it. Have not played in a while.

Very nice picture. I do not believe there is any demonstrateable answer as to why they bubble or not. I have heard many opinions and observations, but most anemone experts I follow say there is no consistent reason. For my current BTA, it had very fat bubbles when I got him. When I added the Spotcinctus Clownfish all the bubbles went away within a week. Just my experience owning one specimen. Personally, as a past owner of H. magnifica and LTAs, I actually prefer the stringy tentacles.

I went to work for a little bit already. One customer is going on an Honor Air trip today and called in a panic last night about how he's going to get breakfast so early before his flight...he's 75, so guess who went to make him breakfast? Lol.
