Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

thats crazy color tho. Im trying my hardest to keep the zooxanthalae on the toadstools but it comes and goes.
Yeah it's like a highlighter marker, bright as can be. Even the aqua green one on the right is very bright green but side by side like that in person you can really see the difference.
I'm going to have to move one of them to it's own frag tile.

If only you can fast forward to see what a whole colony on a giant rock would look like.

So my soon to be 9 year old daughter wants a trio of flame cardinalfish, a trio of blue reef chromis in her 40 breeder once it's setup....So I got to thinking ( I know uh-oh) what's a good trio of white schooling fish to throw in there for a red/white/blue schooling theme?? She's obsessed with red/white/blue "wooooo america, that's US" she says all the time.

Hello,

Nice corals was curious is that Hollywood stunner on the very top? If so you definitely want to move that down and away from anything special. It grows crazy fast and has 3 inch long sweepers and will sting corals. It’s beautiful and amazing but looks identical to it.

@Hemmdog sorru for the loss never good and you went to Hawaii. Wow I had no idea you left glad your home safe and how’s the tank.

@Fin your way to quiet lol say something :)

@Katrina71 how have things been with you? Sorry every time I try and catch up I am just swamped with work or life basically but need a vacation that is in my own home and on here :)

Oh yea. Hawai’i was great. The tanks are good. The fish sitter was using 100% color on my 360x over my 40b, so things look really crappy and brown. But no coral loss or anything.
I’m sad about the trigger :( I revived him from a bad shipping experience thinking I was going to lose him. He was my favorite fish by far. So much personality. I’m trying to stay positive and say it’s a blessing in disguise; because I had to feed my tank a ton to make sure other fish got their share of mysis, the trigger would eat so much and so fast. So hopefully my nutrients will stay lower without him in there anymore and my acros will take off.

Hello,
It is a hollywood stunner I bought as a "bubblegum monti cap" LOL
There's nothing up there for it to sting. But will keep that in mind going forward.
Thank you, they're my first corals I got at a frag swap last weekend.
I just ordered my first SW fish today, it will be here Tuesday.

Nice one man!

Congrats on the basslet!

One day I will be able to do these creatures justice.
For now I will have to be content with keeping copperband alive and happy. :)

Good luck if you try, I currently have my fish trap in to remove mine, even feeding 10 times a day I can't break the natural instinct for polyp munching.

I had a file fish once. My 29 nano started getting these beautiful “anemone” purple and they flourished like no other. Soon they covered every surface. Then I found out they were aiptasia ...live and learn. I use to think hitchhikers were an added bonus of the hobby. This build I used dry reef rock and clean chaeto...except for once see build thread for embarrassing lapse of judgement. Anyway the prehistoric looking file fish and one peppermint shrimp cleaned out that tank in no time flat and I never saw another grow. He was lost in the 5 day power outage of 2018 right after living through the 300 mile tank transfer from Ohio to Ky. :(.

Happy Saturday morning everyone. I brought donuts! :)

Looks like most everyone is sleeping. Therefore, I saved everyone from the extra calories by sucking all the jelly out of these using a straw. I'm always looking out for others. Just the way I'm wired.

My blue throat male trigger jumped... he was fossilized behind my tank :(
Sorry about that 'Dog. Hope you will consider covering that tank. Any fish can become a carpet surfer. After I lost a few, I will never be without a screen top again.
