I recently bought a fluval evo 13.5 and I need 13 pounds of live or dry rock and about 10 ponds of live sand to get it started cycling.. then will need a protein skimmer and all that... but by then will have the funds to purchase that. Just need the rock and sand. Thanks everyone!

Will u won’t need a protein skimmer. Just weekly 5g water changes and ur good

Hey man welcome to R2R. I have a IM Fusion 14g peninsula that is really close in size to your Fluval. 13lbs of live rock won't leave you with much room for water. I'd guess about 5lbs will be plenty. I do not run a skimmer on my tank and I'm keeping SPS happy. Weekly water changes, carbon in a media basket and my dosing pump keeps everything stable.

Oh yea, new guy is responsible for snacks...
