Sorta yes.

Some folks use egg crate , or add small legs. With either acrylic or with rock. Like making a table , so the legs touch the bottom and not the flat of the rock.

Keeps the rock stable even if the sand is removed or vacuumed.

Well tank swap is done. 32 gallons of cloudy water. The watchman got really stressed. Fingers crossed she makes it.

Tryimg to fast track my upgrade but im looking at a couple weeks at best i think. My home made stand was crap (My lack of carpentry skill an tools didnt help) so I may just buy some sort of Credenza for the tank stand and then some sort of cabinet to keep the sump on top of and off to the side of the tank. Im setting it up in the spare bedroom instead of ours and ditching the desk/office i had previously used it for. Just spent 3 hours tearing that room apart. Still a ways to go yet but will be furmiture hunting tonight.

Once i get these projects complete i’ll have a Steves Led kit w/bluefish light upgrade for you if you want and can wait a bit. Also a 32 in tank tower if you need. Maybe a couple other odds amd ends.

LoL. I like the idea of the tank on the credenza w/ sump off to the side and elevated/exposed for easy access. Being its winter in new england itll be March before i can get outside to build/stain a new stand. Gonna have to drill the 40b in the tub as it is. Ive just had it with the biocube and want it gone so im thinking outside/upsidedown the box a bit on this one. I
