Is the tank going in an area where light spillover will be a nuisance? I couldn't have that where my tank is. This member (T2Play) posted this picture in my build thread to give me ideas. This is a floating canopy. This one is suspended from the ceiling, but there is a reefer on our local forum that has a similar canopy and it is mounted to the wall in back. Really sharp looking. If I can find a picture, I will post that one also. Not sure I can find it though.

You could easily trim that out to block the unwanted light. My aquarium also had horrrible light bleeding into my eyes...i tried to make a half *** canopy for now but im not a carpenter so its pretty shifty.... working on my second as we speak.

teach me knowledges hahapass it on down, where the flu at!Why didn't you want a hug from me??? The flu is fun!
Pics or it didn't happensooo, while im waiting for @Katrina71 to post the new tank, i did a lot to my tank. Changed the form of my sump, making the fuge first, skimmer second, return and gfo/carbon third. i mixed the whole sand bed and rocks up in the tank and did an amazing 80% water change. The tank looks so much cleaner. Phosphates went back down to, nitrates are still at a solid 5ppm (idk how), ammonia - 0, nitrite - 0. Did not do a calc, alk,mg test, waiting for tank to settle so i can do round 2 of testing.
Easy. I'll explain in a pm this afternoon. Easy and inexpensive. You could easily trim that out to block the unwanted light.

What size is it @Katrina71 ? Looks like this will be a fun project.
