Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

@Lowell Lemon the pump will be whatever y'all tell me to get. Inexpensive please. 100.00 or less.

Well I only have a couple of Eheims new in the box laying around...so not sure what you might want.

I've seen a few, and it nice to have I'm sure. I think your sump will be big enough that it wont take away from function. Something like this.

That is a really easy to build design. I was thinking of swapping ends so it lines up with her overflow from the tank.

I'm only a student to this. Honestly, I hadn't priced the big pumps until this tank came along. Do you have something that will work for my tank that you want to sell?

I have a 2 year old Jebao DCT6000 on my 90. I rarely remove it to clean. It is dead silent, still. I would get the newest version tho, they seem to update the motors quite often with improved technology. I believe that is the DCP series, and like mentioned the 4000 model would fit your tank nicely.

I usually do research for weeks and ask a lot of questions. This tank was such a surprise, I'm cramming for an exam. Not usually my style. I'm trying hard to catch up to the learning curve. You guys have so much knowledge! I couldn't do this without y'all.

Return Pumps -- The Gold Standards
- Tunze
- Sicce
- Eheim

IMHO, as far as AC returns go, you cannot beat those 3. Tunze, IMO, is the best. They have the best warranties, the best quality items made using the best materials. They are the only company that isn't trying to maximize profit by making materials so thin they crack and rust out destroying tanks (EcoTech)

I love your subtlety. I also do not like Ecotech for those reasons.

I'd be in trouble.

Just don't buy an overpriced, under built, pumps that come with little to no warranty and the crappiest customer support on the planet, and you'll be fine.

Obviously I'd like the best I can afford. I don't mind second hand for better quality. I think all of my tank is 2nd/3rd hand.

A big thing people screw up on... You do NOT need a huge return pump. You do NOT need 100x turnover in your sump. All you need is about 10x or less. A 300-500gph return pump is all you need. Quite frankly, if you are using a return pump for flow, you're wasting a LOT of energy, and doing things inefficiently.

Eheim 1250 (320gph, 6.5' head) <--- LINK
Sicce 1.5 (357gph, 6' head) <--- LINK
Tunze 1073.02 (630gph, 6' head) <--- LINK (what I'm using for my display and frag tank)

These three options in particular will last longer than the silicone on your tank. Not joking at all.

What I like about Tunze is they use a different type of magnet than other companies, which is significantly more expensive to manufacture. The result is that they DO RUST, but the rust is completely inert to your aquarium. It's almost impossible to keep something from rusting. So they use materials that are incapable of rusting in a way that can interfere with our tanks. At great cost to THEM.
