That's cool and all, but ground probes are debated. Lots of people don't think they do anything, or have been shocked anyways, and on some occasions the ground plug has shut down a tank when a house got a little power surge (I get those all the time), killing everything while people were gone.
It's always more complicated than yes or no in this hobby katrina. If you think anything here is simple, then you're not looking close enough.
Um. I don’t see how that could happen.
A ground plug makes a short path for voltage to earth. Rather than you as the short path. It’s not debatable.
Separate one pump from the gfci sonif the system shuts down one pump makes flow.
A fwiw , a HUGE reason grounds are needed is or rather was is , most folks ised to run ac pumps , t5 and halides.
All ac units (from pumps down to cords) create an electro magnetic field.
That field builds in salt water.
A t5 over a tank can buld voltage. Just from the emf.
Put finger in that tank and ground yourself and yuck. W a ground plug is already got a path. Human flesh isn’t as good a conductor as copper w a titanium lead
With mostly dc pumps and leds as we have now , the concerns are a very minimal.
Brew is an electric engineer. Wrote a great article and sticky on it.
Me, I spent three days in the rain playing with 18,000kw lights last week hoping there was enough copper in system to keep me from being the Ground.
