Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Are you going to be able to get the sump in the stand and get it out when needed? You had mentioned a center brace in the stand, so I was wondering. A door on one end with room to slide the sump out is something that I have done before on my old 200. Glad I did, because there would have been no way I could have removed the big glass sump that I built. You may not even need a center brace for that tank. I don't have one in my 4' tank stand. This sump comes out easy.

I was thinking about this too. I assumed a side door or removable panel.

im honestly reconsidering this 750xxl for a cube.. never really knew cubes could look so good.

I agree, after doing my dads I like them even more. Starting to consider large cubes when I do my garage.

they are so interesting. Inappropriate reefer on youtube has a really nice one that influenced me to get a tank.

Yeah I’m trying to decide how a 48”x48”x24” cube would look, it’s what I’m considering doing in the garage.

My husband argues that. He says yes, I say no you don't. Imo. The weight dispersement over 30x30 should be minimal. My guess is 2.5 ish lbs per square inch on the frame? 60g stand 33x33

I wouldn't say the weight is minimal but it can be accounted for. Nothing says you have to use a single 2x4 to build it. My 187g does not have a center brace, only a decorative removable piece. It's a 5' span.

Can you show me the underneath top of your frame?

That is beautiful!!!

Thanks. I did not build it though. It was made by a local reefer, who also owns a cabinet shop. He had a tank somewhere in tbe 300 gallon range and also built custom stands for a LFS. I did restain it last year.
