Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Yeah a dude in my club got a serious MRSA infection from doing that.. Do not put your hands in the tank if you have a cut. The odds are low, the the danger is real. I've seen some NASTY infections over the years from this...

It may be 1:1000 odds, but someone has to win the lotto, and someone has to get the MRSA infection.
I have already had MRSA. So has my whole family. It's a perk of being a cop! Drug users. I got it in my head and almost lost my eye.

Wow! That cute little hand should not have MRSA!

What did they get into?

That is the scary part about MRSA..it’s ubiquitous so we just don’t know. Gotta treat it early!

Once someone has gotten MRSA you end up being prone to it. It's scary stuff.

Once colonized probably always colonized .. if you get it periodically you can wash head to toe once or twice a week with Hibiclens (chlorhexidine) which kills that type of staph. Make sure you aren’t sensitive or allergies to the soap first

@tdlawdo a lot of necrosis there. Did she lose part of her thumb?

Not yet! Not if I can help it.. I have amputated too many fingers and thumbs the last month I need to save this one!!

I am MRSA free for 3 years. We all tested negative for colonization. We all washed daily in that stuff for 2 months. It was a nightmare.

@tdlawdo I think she is in good hands. Could you even give her Vancomycin?

Around here we don’t need Vanco yet. We can still get away with a shot of Rocephin followed by double dose Bactrim... with topical and good wound care. Fingers crossed!!
