We used to have a hockey team called the channel cats. This town really can't pick decent team names.

We used to have a minor league team called the Capitol City Bombers... named after the Doolittle raiders that practiced at Lake Murray and were stationed in Columbia before their raid on Japan. Pretty cool name.

I actually saw them pull the B25 out of the lake.

In high school I use to play in Johnstown, PA ; where the chiefs play in slapshot if anyone remembers that movie lol.

Small world. My grandmother was from Johnstown, PA... you wouldnt know her tho, she was born in 1925 and left during WWII. Worked as a secretary in the White House. Was great at short hand writing, lost art now... met Granddad in Union Station in Washington DC while he was in the Navy.

For sure ! Haha. It was so cool playing in that rink though. Not only because of the movie, but it’s like an actual stadium. It was really sweet in high school playing somewhere so like, legit; concession stands, and all. Lol.
