Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

I don't take any narcotics. Even after surgery. The first day only. I'm really confused why the FDA approved some things that are now a problem with humans. The lab rats had the exact same addictions...it all comes down to money I suppose.

I refuse pain meds. Even locals. I have stitches with nothing at all.

I stay awake for my surgeries if I am allowed. Redheads require more than usual amounts and I always got really sick. Also violent apparently.

Woke up during the mesh install on my stomach muscles in 91. Most terrifying thing ever next to being struck by lightening. I had nightmares for a year from it.

There is a lot I missed in the last 12 hours on this thread. Not surprised at all.

@Fin - my heart, although some say I lack one, goes out to your wife and you. I think it's truly a travesty that more is not allowed to be done with stem cells in the country. However, I won't go down that rabbit hole here. Just know I'll send some good vibes.
I think you might be the "hippiest" commenter on this thread.
Thanks for the good vibes. Much appreciated. As far as me being the "hippiest commenter" deal - we all have our niche - as unusual as some may be. :-)

My wife and kids took me to Texas road house for bday dinner. They told the waiter it was my bday. No alcohol was involved.
We have a Texas Roadhouse here. Hmm, maybe I should try that on my birthday, except some alcohol will probably be involved. :-)

Let me clarify; "hippiest" refers to the idea that you're the only commenter old enough to be a real hippie from the real hippie times. So, it's about age and not being unusual. Although you might be slightly off but I relate! ;)

AND, to further qualify me being the "hippiest" - I went to high school in Southern California during "that time for hippies," from 1969-1972. Far out, man! :-)

@fabutahoun I have been looking for a place that sells your lovely black Iris to the US. So far, no luck.
I think it only grows in Jordan, or at least that’s what my school teachers told us.

Come to Jordan

Hello,

There is soo much info about pain meds it’s absolutely mind boggling. What’s very interesting is some like you do have bad reactions to it as well as others become dependent on it. But what’s also interesting is there are several studies in medical journals where some take them daily for pain. Yet, they show no signs of addiction or dependency, or severe or even minor side effects.

That’s probably the issue the fda has, is that it does serve a good purpose, but also has its cons. I have seen all three and it never seems to amaze me when it comes to this. During surgery is a whole different ball game because that is always only done by the anesthesiologist and with assisting from a nurse anesthetist and team. If individuals wake up during surgery and or remember it, then it was not done properly.
Now a days even where I’m at there is a special team and that is all they do. Generally surgeons (well state to state varies), physicians, anesthesiologist, neurologists, radiologiso can only do these types of procedures. Even normal emergency room doctors, etc would probably be in a lot of trouble if they did this with out the care team there.

But it goes to show and prove how complex the nervous system is and how tiny little changes can severely affect it.
I have had more than few refuse any type of pain med, sedation etc. which I always respect but lol also makes it super hard when they move or twitch and it’s affects how we can help them.
Some meds such as morphine some are allergic to and sadly one of th symptoms is having very violent nightmares, along with itching on the body. It also can have very severe withdrawals, similar to a benzodiazepines and affects the moods of the person. I have some respond great to norco pain med and horribly to morphine or OxyContin. But, I have seen my fair share of those who have adverse effects to norco but not others. If one ever does need it, I would speak with the anesthesiologist before ever going to the family practice. They would probably be able to determine where it is to your likening. Even then, we still have those who are terrified of it (I do understand the risk), and how they handle the pain and procedures is truly amazing.

@Fin I am sorry for what your going through but I will always send warm and happy vibes to you. Your high school ID card is classic. Isn’t insane how at your age in the string of days and the year is gone. But in that time it takes so long, and it’s the same for me I remember just last night all the fun I had in junior high and high school, and where has the time gone? Isn’t it great that we have good memories of the things that fly by.

@Hemmdog im curious as to what medication they gave you because, some of that of what you said is actually a withdrawal symptom. Granted it may have been years ago but some patients we have seen have severe reactions to it and sadly we have ever figured out why. Since not every one is identical, it would be nice to have something where people didn’t have to suffer through it.

My leg incident happened when I was still drinking, so my liver burned up the anesthesia much quicker than normal people. They said they literally couldn’t give me any more anesthesia due to them already giving me more than enough to put a thoroughbred horse to sleep.

Hello,

That’s why they have them, because other may have it and it could have gone horribly wrong. I guess it’s been a blessing that I’m allergic and can’t drink. But if milk was addictive lol oh I would be in ma instead of aa.

But will say when I had my sternum broken and cracked ribs, the meds definitely made me want to breath instead of holding my breath forever. Even then it still hurt bad and still does especially if I move wrong.

I had these deep plans to clean my wave makers and return pumps, and it’s been just one of those days where I’m watching bugs bunny.
