Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Yeah I'm new to the hobby and even I noticed this. It's like the big name brand expensive corals became the new norm and the small guys got to Jack up their prices to follow suit
Two years ago I bought a metallic green toadstool for 45. Yesterday I walked into a lfs and a generic toadstool was 45 for a size of a quarter-half dollar. I was floored. Designer corals are resetting the coral prices.

Also buying those designer corals growing, fragging then reselling them doesn't seem to drop the cost at all. Every Joe blow sells their BC Walt Disney or JF homewrecker at $300 for a 3/4" frag. Don't get me wrong recouping money to help your hobby is fine but there has to be some sort of drop in price. My used BMW don't fetch as much as the new one. Right? I know cars and corals probably bad analogy but still. I agree with y'all assessments.

True. Basic no-name green ones were $$$.

The psittacine bird industry got like this too. I have hand raised just about every bird you can and some you cant. But people started taking simple little budgies and back breeding to produce odd colorations and feather patterns by mistake, happenstance or genetics knowledge and then started charging sooooo much more.

Heck look at the Betta splendins nowadays. I use to get a quarter a fish to sell to my LFS... now the color patterns and fin patterns are so ornate the price has gone crrrrrrrazy

I used to breed doves, finches and quaker parrots (my favorite)

Ok y'all it took 5 hours for some crap hole to put on a new tire. Then 3 miles down the road, front tire decided it hates life too and gave up the ghost. So we limped to another tire shop, this time only 25 minutes, we were in n out like the burger joint. Back on the road again!

Work, working on the truck, buying parts for the truck.... no time or money for reefing. :(

I kinda miss you guys, a little bit at least. Pictures of disassembled hub off my truck. Because I feel like sharing something. (3rd picture is the inner bearing race trying to come out the back of the hub)

5 hours to put on one tire? That's insane!

Yes it was a **** show, the guy who pulled off the wheel went to work on another car afterwards and the wheel say there for an hour before we started bugging people to finish...3.5 hours later they did finally finish.

@Robin Haselden How's the gf tank.
Oh, her skimmer came in! Bubble Magus C3.5. It's the only one we that would fit in the space I decided to use for the skimmer, without costing an exorbitant amount. The larger chamber in the back will be the fuge, with dragons breath and ulva. That way I can recycle nutrients some instead of just throwing out good angelfish food.

Oh and I got her a cheap Aqua Knight light so the she can enjoy it some, and to the fish have a proper day/night cycle. I'll throw it over a nano or something when we get better lights. I will say, it's a lot brighter than I thought it would be.

I think I have a few pictures... hang on.

Pre diatom algae bloom

Bi color angel, had to sneak from the door. They still hide when you walk up. Also, diatoms.

Skimmer!, gotta figure out some way to quiet it down. No rubber feet on the pump so the vibration is a bit much...
