Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Ok back to the original topic byline and some aquarium question. While in Ohio I ran into a former MED student of mine. He was big into the hobby but with the increase in responsibility graduating and residency and a leak and task down of his large bow front some months back wants to give me his last set up. I use to get coral off of him when I had my 29biocube running hard.
He has: a 14 biocube he wants to give me the whole set up. Coral and all. Maybe if I don’t use the tank I can give it to @dantimdad for his new venture for the veterans.

....probably 100+ heads of Duncan’s, 6-7” green toadstools, and a bunch of others

The only caveat is he said he has some aiptasia and hasn’t had the time to take care of it..

So ???? QT it in their own tank with a file fish and peppermint shrimp this worked for me once in a nano I had.

Or is there a dip? Or a new tank and treat? I really don’t want to introduce anything into my WaterBox 230.

I second giving it to @dantimdad for his veteran ventures. For the aptaisia, i would try anything but aptasia x. I used it a month ago because i had one on a rock, now i have 3 that i can see. The brs guys say it doesnt do much good in the ling run either. Gotta love snake oil!

We have been making pancakes on the grill for mothers day since 2009. We bought our house and moved in. We didnt have a working stove yet. Stefan now likes and is learning how to cook on a charcoal grill.

That’s a sweet shirt.

Happy Mother's Day to Katrina and all you other mothers out there.

On shipping ... Wait until Amazon starts shipping by drone. I can't even imagine the cluster that will turn into. :) BTW, FedEx here is far superior to UPS. Some of the crushed boxes UPS leaves at my door are pretty ridiculous.

On aiptasia ... Aiptasia X is a joke, especially on large nems. Oh, they go away for a week or so, but they are back in short order - the same size or larger - with friends. Peppermint shrimp are also a joke, unless you get lucky. I have witnessed the shrimp tear up aiptasia in a feeding frenzy at my old pet store. I have tried them several times and have never seen them touch anything in my tank. My copperband, on the other hand, allowed me to not worry one bit about aiptasia for over a decade. File fish, I have also tried. It did take care of the aiptasia, but when it was gone, he made short work on my zoanthids. Berghia is the only thing I have never used - yet. I really think that is the only ideal solution. Edit - Except they die when the job is done. :-)

So my basslet hasn't eaten or at least I haven't seen him eat since I got him.
He still looks healthy, swimming and acting normally.
What should I do to get him to eat?
Do I need to go get frozen food?
Just feeding selcon soaked pellets right now.

Frozen PE mysis. Worked with every fish I've had. Leave powerheads on.

Thanks! Yes I heard BRS say that. I’m not a chemical guy (not big on meds either) so no worries there! I have had good luck in the past with the file fish peppermint shrimp combo.

And I have been amassing a number of things for @dantimdad next venture. I might just drive them down there myself after hearing this while fedex snafu!

I like the idea of leaving the power heads on. I don’t use the “feed mode” on my apex bc it seems to bring the frozen food to “life” they shoot around and my tang gang and my 5 pajama cardinals love the movement and chase them all over the tank.

Agree with this. My Geometric Pygmy Hawk for example will not eat unless the food appears to be “swimming” around. He ignores pellets, but chases frozen PE Mysis in the flow.
