Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

I've got long hair algae in my tank, so I did a little cleaning today.
Fresh water washed the WWC slimeball to get rid of algae at the base of the frag plug...I found a small white worm crawling on it, not wide and flat like AEFW but I still left it in the FW to die.
Slimeball looks like it may make a recovery, has new grown skin and may actually be coloring up. Yay!
my glass and sand are growing hair LOL, I used the mag float to clean the glass but the hair algae on the rocks and sand will get cleaned this week when my python arrives Tuesday.
I also ordered a bucket of Tropic Marin Pro Reef salt, making the switch.
The Neptheas are growing rapidly it seems, they have doubled in size in the 3 weeks I've had them.
The Rasta Zoas are also growing bigger in size, but unhappy about me cleaning the frag plug today.
No change in the hollywood stunner in fact I've never seen it's sweepers out. But it looks good.
All this film and hair algae makes me want to order a clean up crew from @reefcleaners
I will probably do that this coming week.
The clownfish are still picky if they eat each day.
Sunkist loves his mysis, today he ate the most so far since he got here.
He's also much more social since getting the clownfish. He almost never hides now.

Pond is looking good, and fish look happy. How much maintenance is a pond that size?

If I had kept up with it not much. About an hour a month or less. And maybe a few minutes a day skimming leaves and whatnot.

I also did some maintenance this morning. I neglected my 12 gal hex for the last couple weeks because I have been cheating on it with the 20 long build. I did a large (comparitively) 5 gallon wc and lots of siphoning detritus off of rocks and sand. I am glad that there is a part of me that doesnt trust my own work, because I forgot to plug the heater back in. The temp dropped to 70.6 in the last 7 hours. Everything looks okay, crisis averted! Now its time to test and see how bad i messed up from my LARS.

Oh, thats not bad at all. My wife wants to put in (or rather have me put in) a 'water feature' and fire pit in the back yard. A pond would be a cool way to get some waterfall noise that she wants, and continue my fish keeping addiction.

Sounds good. I used to have a roughly 9000 gallon pond but nowadays the power bill would kill me!

Tornados are scary. I was in a car and by the Grace of God did not die as the steeple of my church got ripped off less than 50 yards from me.
Wow, thats nuts. I am glad that you made it out of that unharmed.

All natural disasters are bad. Only during a tornado, though, did I feel like Mother Nature was personally trying to kill me. Maybe it is the focus, the selectiveness of the awesome power. It is loud too. It is weird seeing destroyed houses right next to untouched houses, or a narrow path torn clear through a forest with all the other trees standing. It feels personal when it is happening and looks personal in the aftermath.

In the States you say darn, in England I say *the things they use to block rivers and make lakes or reservoirs with an N on the end*, exact same meaning, go figure! :p

I have a vocabulary that would make a drunken sailor proud. I can assure you, darn is not part of it.

I've heard/felt an earthquake. Thought the gold mine about 5-10 miles away had an explosion... wasn't really all that bad. I'm waiting for SC to have another huge one tho, we have a fault running from Charleston all the way to thru the state.

Hurricanes, we have parties and get drunk... so yea. Big whoop...

Tornadoes scare the ship out of me.

Snow, what snow... this is the south. Summer starts in April. Our overnight lows are higher than your highs.

It is humid as heck here in NY and supposed to jump to 85 today. I wore my winter coat last week, LOL. I remember when we used to have spring. For the past few years it goes from winter right to summer.

We have 3 seasons down here. Hot, cool, and wet. They all might happen in the same month.

May to early October is 90+ every day. Air is like breathing pea soup, and everything is soaked in the morning, but it never rains. Unless there is a thunderstorm in the afternoon, which only makes it hotter after it quits raining.

November is 70s and usually very pleasant.

December thru March could be 60 or it could be 30. Nobody knows, not even the weather man. You can guarantee it'll rain tho.

April, is like November, but with rain and wind.

As a 40+ female, I can have a summer day any time of the year. I even drip sweat in -11 sometimes at work.
Sexy. Sometimes I miss San Francisco which is roughly 65 and breezy year round.
