Is it sad that I'm a little excited that my trip ends the day Shark Week begins? I don't care what people think about my love of that silly tradition. My encounter as a kid left me with a desire to learn about them.

There is a surgery for it also. My mother had it also. Once went to a family reunion when she was still alive and of her 11 brothers and sisters 8 of them were on Antivert. Low sodium decreases the swelling in the labyrinth which does help the sodium has to be so low it’s hard to do. Good luck!!

PS the surgery makes you possibly lose your hearing in that ear.

One of the hallmarks is generally that with each spell that cochlear mechanism bangs against the vibratory hair cells and breaks some off ...effectively making you lose hearing with each attack. Otherwise maybe it is “just” labyrinthitis and could be treated differently. Fingers crossed they figure something out!!

Too funny. If you work out doing muscle breakdown type exercise that will raise liver enzymes. I love when I get mine checked and the “vegan van lady” gives me that lecture. Cracks me up!

Thanks. I know about the surgery, also heard of injections in the inner ear. I am honestly not at the point where this is even being considered. Working on lowering sodium. I live down south, so food is well seasoned and salt is a part of that. The ENT mentioned diuretics, but I am already on Dyazide for other conditions. I have a history of kidney disease (Nephrosis & horseshoe kidney) and hypertension, so I have experience with getting serious on low sodium diets. At one point down to 1000 mg a day. Not fun and as you said, not easy to do.

Yes. Great food. Jacks up nitrates a bit. Cut it very well. It tends to be meaty.

I worked with a guy that claimed to have been molested by a dolphin. I'd walk by and make random dolphin noises. The squeaks and clicks. Yes, I'm horrible.

I wouldn't mind a dolphin molestation as long as it was a girl dolphin!
