I remember flying into Jamaica in 1990 and seeing the reef clearly through the water from the plane. New to reefing at the time, I had that feeling like astronauts get when they first see their home planet from above. Perfect moment in time.

That is such a cool description. I would love to develop a bot to scour this thread and pick me out all the short pieces of prose that are inspirational, educational etc and put them in a work!!

Congrats!! Too cool!! I rarely feel worthy to discuss reef stuff on here (although you are all the most down to earth reefers/people I have met to date) and in my everyday I rarely feel lacking to discuss anything with anyone. No where is that knowledge sucking bot???

You need a whole team to find the quotes. I once tried to go back and read the whole thread. I got about 200 pages deep in about two weeks and gave up. Very unlike me to not finish a job, but it was growing faster than I could read it and in that case it was futile to think I would ever catch up.

Mediterranean was so clear you could read a newspaper under water. Along the French Riviera area. Near club 55. Cool place they bring a small dingy boat out to your yacht to bring you to the beach for lunch.

I got to buy my first frag from a local reefer today. It is a Rasta zoa colony around 20 polyps. He threw in a chunk of purple stylo that broke off. Very cool to meet fellow reefers locally.
