I had quite the day..
went to get my haircut around noon. There was a 30 min wait, so I went back outside to sit because it was a nice day out. I noticed an undercover cop parked behind my car looking like he was running the plates. I went over to see what was going on. He asked if it was my car, yes. He said I’m towing your car your registration is expired.
-I mentioned to some of you I was having car issues early this month that I have had for a long time that I finally was able to get fixed that were preventing me from passing an emissions test. I got that fixed a few weeks ago and was told to drive the car 50 miles a day a few times, then bring it back to get smog tested. I usually don’t drive that car I usually take the SUV since it’s better on gas. So I haven’t even drove the first 50 miles yet, my haircut adventure was an attempt at that, honestly.
So the registration wasn’t actually expired, it was paid for I just needed to get the smog test done. He tows the car, tells me do this do that, go to the dmv, go to the police dept, then try to make it to the impound lot before 5 when they close or you will get charged for multiple days at impound.
I start walking home feeling deflated, still no haircut and now no car. I remembered uber exists about 1/2 way home so I installed that and got one. Then elizabeth had to get off work early. Drove me to the dmv. Waited for ever. Pay some silly $80 fee there, go 20 miles away to the police dept pay some $160 fee I still have no idea what for, then got to the impound lot at 4:50 and had to pay fricken $380!!! They had my car less than 5 hours !!! Then tomorrow I have to get it smogged for another god knows how much, then rush order stickers for my plates which is an extra fee. Just feeling overwhelmed.
I really wish that Sargent would of just let me take it to get smog tested, that really wasn’t cool, I was so polite and respecting as well, I don’t understand :(
I think I just heard the music from Hotel California playing as I read your story! LOL Young Man get out of that state and never look back!

By the way I think you just got a California hair cut........

Oh you have no idea. It was worth every penny I didn't pay for it ;Drool;Drool :p ;)

And I'm in Calgary Alberta, so the border isn't a terrible trip, unfortunately I don't think I would save any money picking something up or having shipped close to the border. The exchange rate is what it is and I still have to pay taxes on things once I hit the border. The only thing I might save money on is shipping, mostly because UPS has INSANE fees on fee collection. Yeah that's right they charge a fee, to collect money from you and give it to the Canadian government so you don't have to pay the CBS directly, cause that would be painful you know;) There are ways around those fees but they actually are a pain lol
Free is always the best.

WOW, money maker for sure. Last year i got at least three speeding tickets that i didnt get fixed and on the third one the officer told me my registration was expired for over 18 months. I told him i had prior tickets recently and he was flabbergasted. I then showed him my up to date registration with the new stickers still in the envelope in the glove compartment. He then tells me they don't usually care much about it as a primary offense.

You got hosed for sure. thats a lot of coffers getting greased for a simple registration. usually they give you a week to clear the citation.

Flowbee??? next time!!
