Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

So @Katrina71 has been peer pressuring me to get a bta. I think she using her cops skills on me.@NY_Caveman is also peer pressuring me as well. Posting those crazy gorgeous pics of his clown and bta.

Ive read about them walking and killing all kinds of coral. @fabutahoun removed his because of this. What's your guys thoughts.

I use a mesh around my gyre. It works great and does not restrict the flow too much at all, BUT it gets dirty quickly and that will reduce the flow. Cleaning the guards often is key.

I have never had an anemone go on a killing spree. I did have an H. magnifica go for a walk once when a bulb change was overdue on a MH bulb. They are not aggressive hunters or killers. It is usually coincidental. Keep them happy and they will never move.

What do y'all think? Adjusting ok?

Indeed. I think I am falling in love.

Got woken up again today by another huge thunderstorm. Power has flickered twice. A little concerned here.

Duncans are still happy today though.

@sfin52 your tank is a 75? If you add a BTA and want clowns to host, I would seriously consider a Clarkii type clown. Something that is a natural host. I went with A. bicinctus (Clarkii-ish) and it was in in two days.

Natural BTA matches
  • Cinnamon (Amphiprion melanopus)
  • Clarkii (Amphiprion clarkii)
  • Spotcinctus and Two Stripe (Amphiprion bicinctus)
  • Maroon (Premnas biaculeatus)
  • Red Saddleback (Amphiprion ephippium)
  • Tomato (Amphiprion frenatus)
Ocellaris can sometimes be hosted. It is hit or miss though.

@NY_Caveman you have the most beautiful Midas. So Jealous. Hope your power stays on tonight

@Katrina71 I have been waiting for pictures of your and hippie kids tanks. They came out great and the coral is all beautiful
Your BTA and other coral does not care if you pay way more for Radion. I would not buy them if I was you. So many other great options. I only got mine because the information about setting are everywhere.

@Hemmdog the blue zoas are amazing. I need to find some

@dantimdad sorry to hear the news. Hope she has a speedy recovery

I’m so bad at keeping my powerheads clean :( mainly my gyres. I feel like I just did them and they are already humming, full of dang chaeto and mystery goo.
