Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

How old is your MH bulb?
Well embarrassingly (but since we are all friends here) my own bulb was one year old but then a buddy of mine was getting rid of his cube and in the move to KY from OH my bulbs got damaged and so I switched them out for his bulbs since they were still working. So long story short I am not sure the age but these coral really perked up and took off big time since June. He is a MED student and had no time for the tanks so maybe I would guess he was a one year replacement guy back in his ore med school days.

My son is getting married on the 29th of September...so you know where I'll be!
My son gets married Oct 19th. Congrats! He never showed interest in my biocube until when I moved back to KY and took it with me ...then he said “why you talking that we like watching it after dinner before we study, it’s relaxing and helps us center”. Go figure!

I heard good things about those old HQl hoods. I have been looking to buy one for years. Just to see.

His lid/hood that was on his cube I have. You are more than welcome to if you want it. If I use the cube to aquaculture my red ogo I won’t need the hood. I can check what shape it is on it is from a 29 biocube I believe.

That's what I have. I barely missed one. Somebody gave theirs away about an hour before I got there.

It's kinda cool to see more interest in old school lighting.

To be honest I'm not sure why old school isn't still popular, almost set and forget, VERY good option for new reefers and seasoned ones as well. No spectrum or intensities to mess with.

Ato= auto top off. It basically maintains the water level of your tank so you don't have to manually add it. Does a great job with preventing salinity swings. A UV sterilizer isn't a 'must have'. Sterilizers essentially kill any micro organisms (including algaes, protozoans, parasites, and bacterias) by altering their genes causing them to die sooner. Can't hurt to have one, but definetly not something that's essential.
Caution some are huge!! I’m trying to find a spot for my pentair 40W.

You are welcome to this one for sure.
For free of course I can’t be bothered selling used stuff and your thread has kept me company many a sleepless nights and info beyond belief!

Until the lfs switched owners, they were starting to kick a few DT old school. We had been talking about it and they had stuff not being used. I haven't had the heart to go back yet.
