Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Poor snails.
Think I could do 1 MH in the middle of the canopy?
Definitely, but placement may be more limited for some things. Maybe not though as your tank is so shallow.

The depth is a concern for the new tank. 15" could go well, or be a nightmare. I'm going to try to scape to give some shading for the little guys that like it darker.

You will have the canopy which is nice. I think I would do an MH diagonal the long way. It is a corner tank and you have to think of it perpendicular to the focal view. Just like a rectangular tank against a flat wall.

Height for me would be the challenge. I had a single pendant 18” (maybe a little higher) over a 4’ tank about 100 years ago and that was it. Corals grew everywhere. The anemones only ever moved if it was time to change the bulbs. The H. magnifica stayed dead center (the LTA stayed a little to the left to avoid him I think).

I think you should definitely consider the placement of the MH while you consider the placement of your anemones.

I specifically got that rock for the nem. I wanted to be able to move him easily if I needed to. I'm planning on putting him in the middle with possibly a break in structure in case it splits.

Sea Swirl?
Yes, there are two of them and there will be RFG nozzles attached to each. My returns will run through them, attached to two separate pumps, for redundancy (I previously had a pump go down while I was away from home).

If I had your tank it would be based on an H magnifica. I am not suggesting that, BTW, just daydreaming. It would be single halide with LED fill.
Lfs has a big one with a beautiful clown. I love watching her literally dive in and snuggle on her side.

I'm considering doing an AIO tank that has been modified to conceal a power head so the anemone can't get sucked up into it for a clown/anemone tank for the store.

I want a pair or several storms.

I would say a Magnifica could fit in my JBJ 45 Flat Panel with ocellaris if they were the only major inhabitants. Similar to the IM 40 if you wanted a specific brand.

One of our Louisiana Reef Club members did this with an 89 gallon Planet aquarium (48x24x18) and it really came out nice.

Oh.......

Yes. I have a line on a few storms if I want them. Just need the anemone. But that's getting ahead of the plan.

I have my eye on a fijicube.com AIO. Happen to have a good relationship with a rep for them. ;)
