Buried utilities cost more than pole, a cost customers would have to be willing to accept...

My parents neighborhood has underground electricity, it looks nice not having powerlines... but the are under contract that they can never has gas lines installed from their electrical co-op, even tho the major natural gas pipeline is a quarter mile away. I have overhead power lines, but I also have natural gas at the house. After having gas powered heat and stove and hot water, I'll deal with the overhead power. Gas is way better.

So the cost to tax payers and rate payers in California would be less than the continued stream of lost lives, properties, and lost business due to power outages. Germany buried power to prevent us from taking out their power grid if we were in a war again...so there is that perspective as well. You might not remember how we took out the Iraqi power grid with tin foil steamers during Desert Storm....but I bet they remember. Underground utilities are more expensive for sure. What choice do you have given the current climate and attitude of looting the tax payer and rate payer so PG&E can continue to give bonuses out even after declaring bankruptcy. This was before any claims have even made its way to the courts. State government in California is complicate in helping fleece the sheeple in the state as well. I guess I am glad to live in the middle of nowhere surrounded by dams that provide cheap hydro power! What a mess...I feel for all my friends and family stuck in California.

I guess the real issue with burying them is the state itself. One good earthquake and power could be knocked out for weeks with a buried system. It takes infinitely longer to repair underground anything than replacing poles and lines above ground and the cost of those repairs would be astronomical in comparison as well. And declaring bankruptcy if you're a major corporation doesn't really even mean anything anymore. Companies get bailed out, employees get cut and the CEOs still get there yearly bonuses on taxpayer dime. Been that way for decades now and won't ever change.

He's in solitary until I get the other tank set up.
Plugging along pretty nicely on the home office, yesterday we got the sheetrock hung on the ceiling and two of the upper walls.
Today the rest of the walls will be finished, tomorrow the flooring, by Friday or Saturday I'll be setting up the 20 tall for the lil guy to get transferred to. He'll be in there without a tank light for a week or two, just a ceiling light and daylight lighting the room.

I am a newbie (Comparatively speaking), bought a coral with “blue tip” in its name. Gorgeous piece in the pictures. Turns out the tips are white and look blue in blue light. So the question is “Is this unethical, wrong or ok practice by the seller”. When I reached out to them they just confirmed...
