Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

Isn't it just a little sad some of us are desperate for GHA and others want to burn there tanks to the ground to get rid I'd it? ;Hilarious ;Hilarious
It's me, I'm others...

After dino I was so excited and relieved to see gha.

I am desperate for gha because I just beat dinos and I dont want to give them the opportunity to come back. In any normal situation I wouldn't feel the same.

Crabs frequently die during or right after a molt. Land hermits are the same.
Well, that makes me feel a bit better about the situation. Still not happy it died, but glad to have an answer. My params have been rock steady except a rise in nutrients

Make sure you dont push too hard in the other dirrection... GHA can kill corals too ya know. Ask me how I know

I've found a good rule of thumb is to wait 2 weeks for a reaction. Keep up the daily dose and maintenance stuff that maintains balance, but if you tweak something give it two weeks before you decide if it actually did something good or bad.

It's like driving a cruise ship instead of a row boat. Think ahead and dont overreact. It takes time for things to show up, and last minute and too sudden fixes usually end up in a crash.

Molting is tough. Try ripping all your skin off and growing new skin in a day or two. Iodine helps inverts molt, and also helps corals fight bacterial infections. Just get a test kit before dosing anything tho.

Do you have film algae or anything?

Maybe go buy a frag from that guy with the dirty tank.

No, i have a weird macro algae that I forget the name of and a small piece of lettuce looking algae. I messed up after the cycle and cleared out all gha 8 months ago, then added chaeto which took up all the nutrients

He's out... lots of color loss from stress, but he ate a few baby brine and I'll feed blood worms tonight. Also got him to flare for the mirror. He looks healthy for traveling around the world.

The baby apistos will be removed here soon. I'm thinking maybe a few ember tetras for tank mates.

Maybe its ulva? It's called "sea lettuce" for a reason... incredibly hard to get rid of on rocks, but the great thing is tangs LOVE it... if you have a tank large enough for a tang. A small blenny should destroy it also if not, but not as quickly as a tang would.

I have a 20long. I would be in for 25 to life if the tang police caught me.

That’s what happened to me.

I added tang heaven, Chaeto, and that lettuce stuff for pods in my fuge, ran photoperiod for 16 hours a day, params went to 0

Tang heaven sucks nutrients like nothing else.

@Why-Me how is the vibrant + fluc incursion going?
Fluc worked wonders on all the GHA that was overgrowing my frags and my rockwork.
Tried to do big WC today but only had 8 gal on hand.
So now I'm making water and will do a much larger WC on Saturday.
So far, though anecdotal, the fluc works great and the vibrant I'm not sure yet.
I only dosed vibrant once, two days after fluc treatment.
Once things stabilize I plan to use Microbacter 7 or vibrant on a small continuous dose for a length of time to see the long term effects.
Today I dosed microbacter 7 with my WC.

20long are great size. I have one I want to turn into a zoa frag tank. I have a 2 bulb 24" T5 that would be perfect over it.

I’d be really careful at this point to note wipe out everything. You’re smacking all algae at every angle, I’d just do vibrant for another month and leave it at that.

Also, vibrant takes a long time to work from my understanding. The brs video showed two months for every algae tested

Not going to dose vibrant.
Maybe in 2 weeks or so.
Going to get things stable again first before I decide to do anything.
