Amazons shipping and return policies are probably pretty pricey as well, maybe niche vendors like reef suppliers just don’t want to do business with them, and price their products accordingly.

I know Amazon is absolutely the cheapest place for the stuff we buy in bulk. We have so many packages delivered...no idea what the neighbors think.

I'm the first house on the street, and UPS and FedEx are thru the neighborhood on the regular. I doubt they think anything honestly. So common for people to online shop now. It's just easier than fighting the crowds at the mall.

I admit, Amazon is convenient with that 2 day shipping and one click buy... but shop around first, free shipping isn't hard to find and there are way better deals that are usually cheaper even with shipping included. Everything thing with that prime check mark is padded to offset the cost of shipping anyway, even tho you're paying a yearly sub for the service.

Amazon usually sells higher to prime member because of the free shipping. Food for thought

Exactly!! Our neighborhood is mostly chill though, if you walk around at certain times of the day you can usually smell something. Some smells are better than others

It's okay though, it just pushes some people like me with a reasonable amount of money to shop somewhere else. I don't shop at Walmart or Costco either.

I remember that. Covered them back in my equity research days. That was reall bad. They had to close a few hundred targets.

Yeah I didn't think it was possible for such a retail giant to have such a disastrous roll out. For me it wasn't that people didn't like them. It was they tried to do things all wrong. Walmart has such a huge grip up here in Canada and it takes time for people to go somewhere new and try something new. They should have rolled out maybe 10 stores in major cities across Canada and start working on there image to the Canadian public first. Instead they went completely overboard and rolled out hundreds of stores at an untolled cost and tried to saturate the market. Unfortunately things like that just don't work very well up here. Our geography and population doesn't allow for a major roll out like that either. With a population of just shy of 40 million and 500-1000kms distance between some major cities, insane distribution costs and a limited market in general that's saturated by Walmart. It would have taken a more methodical approach to be successful here and that's not the route they took.

Bunch of random stuff from beer, distilled water, cleaning supplies, washing stuff, etc.

I find them cleaner, better items in stock, and less chaotic than Walmart.
