Do all of these guides assume that you’ve mixed your soda ash and calc in 1 gallons? Just trying to ensure the ml matches up

Does anyone use the brs two part product? I have come across their calculator and randy Holmes recipes/ other instructions.

The calculator doesn’t tell you how much calcium per alkalinity which makes it a bit a confusing. I’m also struggling with the mag portion.

Any help would be appreciated. A nice calculator that says dump this amount of alk and calc into a 1G jug and dose Max this many ml until you hit your target would be perfect.

The same amount of each is my understanding/what I was told. Has been working great so far. My choice of 2 part (reef fusion) has mag in it as well, so I’m not worrying about that too much.

also: 7.4 isn’t necessarily too low, it’s just a large difference from what your water is mixing at. That’s about where my tank has been for months and months.

So it says to get to 9 alk and 424 calc from my current levels I need ~108ml of each. I’m going to divide this by 5 to slowly get to my target numbers. 21ml a day doesn’t sound extreme does it?

I do one time spot check dosing, if you wanna call it that.
I use BRS calculator >BRS dry soda ash> Pharma pouch>enter dkh>enter dkh you want> push button to get the amount of dry soda ash> I add that to 6-8oz of RODI> then slowly mix.
That's just for my alk haven't started testing or doing anything with calc or mag

I believe you can go 1.0 - 1.4 dkh in a day without pi**** off the tank inhabitants
I've done a full 1.4 or 1.5 without any issues.

the dose is dependent on the product and how concentrated it is. There is a huge difference in concentrations product to product, I’m dosing 3ml of part 1 and 3 ml of part 2 for my 28g, once per day.

@Why-Me I was doing the same thing, only dosing alk. (Which helped a lot when I switched to 2 part, because I already knew my alk consumption). But only dosing alk means you get a steady drop in Ca, I was at 310! Even with regular water changes.

Im too am dosing. All softies using rc 5g water change a week with just softies. Stupid coralline

Is part 1 the alk and part 2 the calcium? If so, that doesn’t sound like equal parts to me if you’re is that concentrated
