anyone else have issues with manufacturers changing their products with no explanation? I’ve been buying the same filter sponge since I set up my tank, and it is randomly completely different this time. Just changed mine out and the water flow through it is more restricted, my tank will not filter itself right now....the water is flowing around the edges. I’ve already drilled extra holes in my intank media basket multiple times to combat this problem, the bags of purigen and phosguard I was buying got bigger a couple months as well, even though their ratings did not change..
I just cleaned off my media and changed to a new sponge, the water should be smoothly disappearing into the sponge. When it gets dirtier (in the past) it would start to rise and I would know to clean it.
