First run for softy+ 80 gallon shallow reef. Hoping to accomplish other height with toadstools/gorgonians/finger leather.
Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms? ”Wit”icisms?

Added a small rock on lower back portion, but didn’t get full shot after.

Mostly Marco Rocks, then just some dry smaller pieces to flesh things out.

I would try and lower the structure on the right, considering it will be almost out of the water if the cardboard behind it represents that actual height of the tank. Besides that, I think it looks great.

My aquascape is a tiered design with 3 levels. It has a lot of rock and a lot of sand but that makes for a great bio-filter for my 14 fish. Of course having a fuge and sump tank help also.

Dry Rock arrived last night. I would like to have an arch and a cave. The big base on the left is HUGE! Plan to chisel, grind and cut a cave that will be open from the right and the front. So far not super happy with the far right side. Think I will take down the bridge and make it a pile of rock. A coral tower? Is there such a thing? Lol What is your opinion? The black plastic is about an inch smaller than tank. 90 gallon

Finally got the rocks in the tank. Had to take everything apart and re do inside the tank.

Seeing some great scapes and wanted to share my scape with you all. Will keep playing around with it this weekend. Hope to get it in the tank soon.

Does anyone else plan out the aqua scales in advance? I even draw in what corals I want to place and where lol. This is a roach scape I’m in the process of curing in the garage for a 187 gallon build tank dims are 60x36x20

Question about EMarco 400
This week we plan on doing our aquascape , currently its just a pile of rocks, pic included and have a bucket of emarco 400. i have read that it sets/hardens under water, is this true and is it strong.
I plan on using some pvc to support overhangs but it will be removed, no crazy long overhangs and alot of mortar area to cement it together.
Im not drilling any rocks or using any rods, just cement.
So my main question is is emarco cement a strong product ?

Set in water and very strong but I wouldn’t move it into water until cured as heavy and can fall off.

Getting back into the hobby after 20+ years, a lot has changed!!! Would welcome thoughts on aquascape? I want to ensure great flow and minimal deadspots, plenty of swim space with good surface area for corals. Will be going into a 100 g.

I like everything but the middle white rock on the right...it is to straight. if you can add some smaller rocks on the sides to break up the vertical lines. maybe you could put some rocks under the far right to create some caves and allow water to flow under the structure.

First tank finally setup - 240g peninsula

Back in the hobby after 15 years and using dry rock for the first time. Honestly a little overwhelmed by how much has changed. Thankful to see a great community going here at R2R. The plan is a LPS dominant tank with some softies and maybe give easier SPS a go if things look good down the road.
The tank's a 50 gallon SCA cube (24"x24"x20"H) center interior overflow. Primary flow is from the return in both back corners and controllable Tunze powerhead in back top right corner. The Tunze is meant to provide flow "down" over the reef top.

I've gone back and forth and spent so much time on this aquascape.
Thoughts? I would really appreciate some tough criticism or someone tell me to get this thing wet...

Seems like there are two broad goals for an aquascape: make it a work of art (think Amano for SW) or make it look like a slice of the reef. I always go for the latter ..... and even occasionally succeed. Not a particularly big fan of the former.
