Brand new elegance coral giving off a string mucus

Hi there... I just received a new elegance coral 2 hrs ago. After dipping for a few minutes and placing in my tank (0 nh3/ 0 nitrites/ 10-15 nitrates) I noticed it’s giving off long strings of mucus. Is this normal? Has not opened up yet which I wasn’t expecting. Placed in substrates at bottom of tank in medium flow area.

Curious -what did you dip it in. Since its only been 2 hours, I would watch it. Its definitely irritated by something.

PS where did you get it from - was it from an LFS or overnight shipped? To me (sorry the pictures are a little blurred) it looks like there are places that the tissue is pulled away from the skeleton?

blue zoo aquatics overnighted. Seems somewhat better now but I still see remnant some mucus. I used ReVive Coral Cleaner. See attached pic...

Looks good - I would watch those areas where the tissue is receding. My guess it was related to your dip

I will keep an eye on this and update if I see an issue. I am wondering if I used too much dip which is what caused the irritation.
