Brand new Octospawn dying - Help!

It doesn't have a smell, really. I moved it to the opposite side of the tank away from the other euphyllia to observe it pending further feedback.
Stop moving it.
Each time you do that, it will get worse

In early systems, those things that feed our corals are not in abundance and this can create challenges.

Keep phosphate up and stable and a dash of phyto will help to feed your system.

Give them a week without change.

Thanks for the help! I’m still new to the hobby and learning.

Me too!
Enjoy!

It’s hard to pinpoint any one cause for unhappiness of corals so there’s a predisposition to guess somewhat which in turn can destabilize the system, a viscous circle.

Just a heads up - if it is BJD just toss it. Don’t try to frag it, or dip it and wait. Just toss it.

I lost all my torches to BJD about a year ago (luckily had some in a separate frag tank) but it was well over 40 heads. It sucks, but part of the process of recreating the ocean in our homes.

Stability is key in this hobby so I would stop moving it and don’t do anything drastic like 50% water changes

Thanks, I'll watch it like a hawk and if I see any signs of BJD it will be tossed.
