I would triple that for a start. Add more hermits if "she" will be looking for them. Majority of the time they will be out of sight

I read somewhere 1 snail per gal? Is that incorrect?
Also, do these snails reproduce? No problem adding as many as I need but I've kept MTS in freshwater before and very quickly turned into a snail tank with fish in rather than a fish tank with snails in!

To start yes I feel triple is appropriate. Do all snails reproduce, yes. If you purchase red turban snails will they thrive and reproduce in your tank? Yes. And that is amazing and a good thing.

Fair enough. Big on snails!
Tank arrives today, may start a build thread once I clear the space for it. Need to move a few things around before i get it where i want it. Also still have some equipment to buy before i add sand, rock and water..... But then i can carry on asking advice along the way with pictures etc

What test kits do i need? I've always used API for freshwater so was looking to stick with those as i know how they work for the most part. There is a marine test kit and a reef test kit... I'm assuming i will need both?!

API will get you where you need to be. Since that is what you are already comfortable using I say keep using it. At least to start with. They are easy to use. Some people will try to say that they are no good but there is a reason you can find them everywhere. They are cheap and abundant and work.
For the cycle you will want the API saltwater test kit.
After you are cycled and running you will want the API Reef Master test kit.
These kits have pretty much everything that you realistically "need" to get going.
Eventually you will probably end up "upgrading" to "higher quality" test kits.
I am not exactly saying use API, but sine you have experience with them already, why complicate this project any more than it already is by adding new test kits to the list of things to learn?
Red Sea, Salifert, Hanna, Seachem, Nyos, Elos are all good test kits if you want to try something new.

I'll add the API kit to my shopping bag!
Decided on Caribsea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink and think a 20lb bag should be ample?
Think I may need to use dead rock as I've been to 5 shops today and only one stocked live rock and it looked pretty poor! But with the live sand and a bottle of Dr Tims i think i should be set.

20 pounds of the Caribsea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink should give you about 1.5 inches of sand in your tank. That should be good. The "live" sand and Dr. Tim's will have you off to a good start.
