Hi Everyone, Welcome to my 30G Cube Build Thread!
Just a bit of background on me. I started in the hobby back in 2000 with a 30G Cube, I successfully ran that for years. I progressed into a 220G acrylic tank that I fabricated myself. That ran successfully for me for a long time until I had an auto top off failure that occurred when I was on vacation. I came back to a flooded home, my entire tank being wiped out, and tens of thousands of dollars lost. I took that pretty hard as I had most of that livestock and coral for almost a decade. I never rebuilt and had my mind made up I was going to leave the Hobby.
This April I had to put my dog to sleep due to a Brain tumor that was heavily affecting his way of life. I had him since I had gotten back from serving overseas in the military in 2006 as a coping mechanism. Needless to say the last few months without him have been hard. His death put the thought of reef keeping back in my head as I’m nowhere near ready for another dog. This hobby put a lot of joy in my life at one point, and I’m ready to give it another shot.
Now on to the build. I really wanted to go big with a 425G(72x48x28) build, but we have way too much construction and remodeling going on at our house currently and I have to wait until that is done in early 2018. Will be prepping for this tank by having structural modifications done now, and a fish room addition(16x12) added on. I was able to pickup a 30G Oceanic Cube, the exact cube I started the hobby with. I’ve decided to do a mixed reef with this in my office while I wait to be able to my 425G build. This thread will be chronicling the build.

Have a feeling whatever I do it will no longer be a 30G and I'll have to abandon this thread or ask someone to change the G size
