Brass fittings and CO2

I was wondering what everybody else uses on their calcium reactor set up, specifically what do you use when connecting the tubing from the CO2 regulator and the calcium reactor. All that I know that fits on a regulator is a brass compression fitting...anybody use something different? Anybody else use brass fittings?


The ball valve on a co2 tank is brass isn't it? Does copper not diffuse into co2?

I use nylon or plastic compression fittings and CO2 resistant blue vinyl tubing.

I just use the brass fittings. I doubt that there is much, if any, copper that dissolves in the CO2.

I agree with CJ... If water doesn't touch it, I doubt it matters.

I know, this is an old thread but I would like to know if having brass parts in the CO2 side (before entering to the Calcium Reactor) can or cannot be used?

The popular Aquarium Plants CarbonDoser uses a single stage brass regulator and brass connection fitting, so yeah, you’ll be fine using a brass regulator to run your CaRx.
