I have 4 other species of angels in my display. Not sure how I missed this beauty!

who has experience with this guy or the African variant?

currently other angels are:
captive bred blue line, small
bellus angel, small
lamarck, medium
swallowtail, medium

followed by the tang gang, two anthias, fox face, and multicolor wrasse.

my tank is 95% SPS followed by two attached frag tanks.

How are they as community fish? I’m assuming as with any other dwarf angel, add at your own caution with coral.

any thoughts on these guys? What are the preferred treatment protocols (med wise) during quarantine for these guys?

thanks

If this is the only dwarf angel you're adding to your tank you'll be fine. Depending on the size, you can occasionally have 2 or even 3 dwarf angels (I have a pair in my 160-gallon). Multiple dwarfs will typically take a few days to 'sort out living arrangements'. Dwarfs seem to get along with any combination of regular angels.

I have a midnight, coral beauty, lamarck female and emperor juvenile - and they all get along swimmingly (the midnight has called dibs on the lamarck female).

I believe the Brazilian flameback is all but impossible to get anymore. I haven't seen one available in several years.

My LFS has one of the two in as we speak but I don’t know the differences between the two species/variants. I think if you look in the right places you’ll find them but the rarity is bound to have risen, and their price sky rocketing.

It is most likely an african one. They tend to run around $80 around my area and I see them all the time. No idea what a brazilian would cost since I haven't seen one in years but I seem to remember they normally were around the same price as the african.

If it took Jake years to find one then they must be hard to find. He would at least know where to get one even if he didn't want to pay the price.

Edit: Just noticed you were in England. May be able to get them there. Sometimes things we don't get are plentiful in your area.

These will be hard to find and pricey. Live aquaria gets a lot of difficult fish but not reliable with shipping.
Try NY aquatics, and salty bottom reef company

A bunch landed this week so they should be available next week from your LFS
Depends on the price. A lot of LFS will not bring in expensive fish. I had one once that would make you prepay for any expensive fish.

My personal experience with this angel is they are the biggest jerk ever. I eventually had to give mine away because it was so territorial that no fish (even tangs) were safe from it. That said every fish is different, so there is a chance it could work out for you. But I still fear for all the genicanthus angels you have. And they may take a chunk off your sps once ina while too, but if you have a lot and a larger tank then you may be able to curb its nasty side
