Hello reefer :
I decide to break down my reef tank and start over again , I have big doubt about sand bed leaching nitrate and i aint to control it .
What is the best way to do quick cycle ?
I will use my live rock just will remove sand bed and replace new one .
And I will move every thing in DT to sump temporary to finish the quick cycle ?
Plz ur suggestions

If you are only replacing your sandbed, then I wouldn't work about a cycle too much as you will have all that established live rock. You will probably get a diatom bloom from the new sand, but that will go away in a week or two. If your sandbed is leaching nitrates then you need to find out why that is occurring and fix that problem so it doesn't occur again. If you have livestock and plan on disturbing a sandbed that hasn't been touched in a long time, I would place my livestock in a separate tank because once you disturb the sandbed you will release a ton of nitrates and other nasty stuff too.

Thx mate for ur tips , im planning to move live stock to sump and turn off tge circulation pump , I will replace sand bed and dose live bacteria in order not have any mini cycle .
And to fix the problem of nitrate I try hard to figure out what the source but nothing working, I did change all my rocks and old sand bed before 4 months ago and with new live rock and live sand with huge water change 70%and nitrate back
Im running bio pellets for 4 months and refugium and with regular W.C every two weeks 10% and nothing drop nitrate .
I try vodka dosing ending with cyano bloom and stop it .I dont have over load fish for my 100 g tank and feeding day other day one time .so wierd

In my experience unless you have a deep sand bed, keep your sand at about 1.5 to 2 inches deep.

If your using your old LR your prob fine. Why don't you try BB.. No sand no issues.. Once a coralline coating goes over it look nice. Or you can use starboard.
I love it since I went BB. Will be better once I add vortechs.
