Wasn’t going to do a canopy on this system but really too much light floods the room.

Didn’t want to have to deal with removing a heavy canopy or be limited on how I access an open tank.

Came up with this design. Front piece is removable and will be held in place with magnets. Side panels fold out of the way when I need access. Used marine grade stainless steel hardware.

How do you have that attached to the wall? I see a red cord/tube going behind the back part on the right.

I used a section of 2x6 to attach to wall first, which was drilled into studs. I then didn't have to worry about finding wall studs to drill the back section of the canopy to. The red tube that you see, is my outside, fresh air intake, which feeds protein skimmer.

what size are you using for the air intake? looks like 1/2" pex maybe?
