Break in Ghost skimmer?

I was wondering if there was anyone who could help me figure out how to break my IM desktop ghost skimmer in... I'm running it in a nuvo 10... Also how can I make this thing quiet?

I have heard of people making a silencer out of a pill bottle and some airline tubing. I personally was never able to get it really dialed in and took it offline. I've heard if you build a platform to raise it up two inches and open up the valve all the way it works well but never tried that

I have mine sitting on a little rock to raise it a bit. I sleep a few feet away, hear it but not annoying
