So many monti's i forget the names but its the large red base blue polyp species.. But you might be able to tell from the pic the bottom right of the growth there is some exposed rock, this rock was purposely put there and is about 3''x3'' and the idea is that one day i would "break" off the rock from the monti, bring into the LFS and trade in for some credit..

So now that it's getting close to almost fully covered i figured its time to get it off now or soon, then let it heal for a bit and bring in the goods...

so the question obviously is, is it that easy to just break it off ??

picture is just for reference, its a crappy iphone pic. Thanks for any input !!

This isn't related to the situation but that's a mystic sunset monti since you don't know the name

i kinda was thinking it would just snap...but ya know i wasnt going to test that w/o consulting R2R lol

Mine never plated out like that, it just kept spreading over rock and grew thicker. I had to cut rock and all to control it

You should be able to snap it off whole. Grab it from the bottom to feel how sturdy it is. If it doesn't give much just break it off. If it gives a bit it might break into a bunch of pieces.

Either way you can frag it with your hands.

fragged it yesterday, and traded for a decent size chunk of jedi mind trick monti(i've been wanting this for some time now). super stoked
